Students

Your course has complex content and moves at fast pace. We know what you are up against.  Let's make the study process easier.

If you're working as well as studying you probably fit several short study periods through your day.  That’s why logging into OB3 is fast, and why it remembers exactly where you were last time.  If you save two minutes each time you login, you’ve got an extra hour in your week.  For access on the run we are also building a mobile version from phone and tablet/iPad

Annotation & Study Summary

In OB3 you can annotate content by highlighting it as you study, optionally adding comments. When reviewing, you can use the OB3 Study Summary to reveal just the content that you found relevant.  “Zoom out” to reveal more context. And anything added or changed by teachers will be automatically included, so you’ll always be studying the latest material.

Collaboration

When you're stuck you need to find answers before the course moves on to new topics.  Connect with your classmates, by asking a question or starting a discussion. OB3 shows these next to the subject content they relate to, so you’ll never miss relevant collaborative information.  Our mobile tools for staff make it easy to for them to  respond to your questions, raising the likelihood of a timely response.

Learn for life

OB3’s web accounts are personal to you and never expire. Our course providers are cool, they usually permit access to course content for graduates.  Use OB3 to create study notes and assignments. The content you've created will not be deleted.  And our powerful search tools mean you can quickly access any part of your work any time in the future.  So no more boxes of college notes in your parent's garage.

We expected the project to require programmers and designers, but with OB3 it can be completed by teachersMichael J Lew, University of Melbourne

Our project requires integration of pre-existing resources (presentations, animation and LiveCode simulation widgets) and fully standalone computer-based learning modules. We selected OB3 because of its capacity to freely combine such material within a textual narrative. Its support of Livecode web objects is crucial. We expected the project to require a concerted effort with contracted programmers and designers, but with OB3 it will become one that can be completed by the academic teachers.
