About

Rodney Tamblyn, CEO and Founder

Currently he leads the team behind the development and commercialisation of OB3, working with clients at the Universities of Otago, Sydney and Melbourne and Washington. Rodney’s prior experience includes 10 years in various e-learning roles within the University of Otago.

Stuart Barson, Business Development

Stuart helps to set our strategy and find new partnering opportunities. He has an extensive background in health and education as a university commercial manager, tertiary teacher and policy analyst. In the 1990s, he worked in the New Zealand Parliament for three Ministers of Health, putting his MA in Political Studies from the University of Otago to good use. He loves to bodyboard in the cold waters of Dunedin.

Dr Gloria Gomez, Interaction and Educational Design

Dr Gomez has significant international experience in Australia, the United States and Colombia, including award-winning international projects.  She was the visual designer for CmapTools, used in over 70 countries. She has a PhD in Interaction Design from the Swinburne University of Technology.

Michael Mitchell, Lead Developer

Michael’s prior experience includes many large scale commercial web projects, including Splash Monitoring, a sophisticated web monitoring solution. Michael’s previous projects with OceanBrowser include HealthSearch. He is Zend certified.

Mikhail Medvedev, Front-end

Mikhail seems to be finally winning his 8-year-long war with Internet Explorer, if only due to his naturally-longer lifespan. When not playing with colours and shapes, he enjoys nature and the noise pollution of said nature with the sounds of his guitar. Past projects include www.snapper.co.nz

We expected the project to require programmers and designers, but with OB3 it can be completed by teachersMichael J Lew, University of Melbourne

Our project requires integration of pre-existing resources (presentations, animation and LiveCode simulation widgets) and fully standalone computer-based learning modules. We selected OB3 because of its capacity to freely combine such material within a textual narrative. Its support of Livecode web objects is crucial. We expected the project to require a concerted effort with contracted programmers and designers, but with OB3 it will become one that can be completed by the academic teachers.
